Medicare Supplement coverage pays for expenses not originally covered (or only partially covered) by the “original Medicare” (Parts A & B).
The policies are offered to current participants of Medicare Parts A & B. Medigap plans can be purchased with no health questions asked during the six month period when the individual becomes eligible for Medicare. Plans E, H, I, and J were eliminated as of June 1st, 2010. This accompanied the elimination of the preventive care benefit and the At-home-recovery benefit, which Medicare has deemed unnecessary in the current marketplace. In light of these changes, we recommend people purchase Medicare Supplement Plan F instead of Medicare Supplement Plan J as it is often cheaper and will have the best benefit package. The majority of Americans purchase Plan F for these reasons. Keep in mind most insurance carriers offer Plan F, which means it is important to shop around for the best price. We will do the shopping around for you by quoting several different carriers and find you the cheapest option. We will also continue to run quotes in following years to ensure that you’re still receiving the best price in the market.
Some of our main medicare supplement providers are UCT, Family Life, and United of Omaha.
